Damon, if you want close to Fronteras, once here check out Bruno's and Tijax.....both offer internet. I don't live at either, so cannot give you their pros and cons. Most of the other marinas are a mile or less away, so how close you want to the noisy "city" can be an easy dinghy ride away. BUT, regardless of the info you get here, check them all out when you arrive. Have a good trip, smell all the roses on the way, see ya in the summer....

Thanks Demon for your input. What marina are you at? Is Fronteras that noisy? Heard anything about the Tortugal marina?
Your advice is good, we'll probably get a transient slip and take a few days to scope it out.

Hi, Damon, just browsed your website....looks like you guys are in for lots more adventures.....good decision to escape early. Demon was right on....Fronteras CAN be noisy (jake brakes on the bridge), but do look around and ASK around, once here. good luck on your voyage

Thanks for the compliment, we've worked hard on our website. Our old dock mates from Texas, Chrystal and Darryl, are at the monkey bay marina. We're excited about getting there, can't wait. Heard a lot of good things about the Rio Dulce.

Ah-ha, that explains why the rio is your destination. Think monkey bay is one of the few without internet, but that could change. Saw your question to Demon re Tortugal. Think he used to be there (many boats USED to be there) but some weird things happened. It is still a beautiful place, tho.
If you spend any time in Marathon, look for CAMRYKA. They will be heading this way also and can answer lots of your questions.

Thanks again m.e. Unfortunately we won't be going to Marathon but maybe we'll see them along the way, I'll keep my eyes open. So, if I may ask, what kind of weird things? I know it may only be rumors so won't take it to heart but you have peaked my curiosity.... What marina are you at if I may ask? do you like it there?

Hi again...I am at Catamaran, and like it very much....the only marina with a tennis court and full time electric, even when the power goes out. BIG generator, internet to the docks.

I was looking at the map with the location of all the marinas, but there is really no scale to tell distances with. Is it a long ride Frontereas or is it pretty reasonable? We were just concerned about having a wet and uncomfortable ride to town to get food, eat out or what ever. We have a 10' Rib.

Do you have an email address for Catamaran so I can ask them some quesitons?
